37th Annual NYC Amateur Golf Championship Returns to LaTourette
As the New York golf season begins to heat up, one of the most competitive events in the city is back—the 37th Annual New York City Amateur Golf Championship.
Set for Memorial Day Weekend (May 23–24, 2026) at LaTourette Golf Course in Staten Island, this tournament brings together some of the best amateur golfers across NYC’s five boroughs.
A True Test of NYC Muni Golf
There’s something different about competing on a municipal course in New York City.
No country club gates.
No exclusivity.
Just pure golf.
The NYC Amateur Championship represents the highest level of public golf competition, where players who grind it out on courses like Douglaston, Forest Park, and Clearview step onto a bigger stage.
It’s the same culture that continues to inspire brands like Queens Country Club—where golf isn’t about status, but about where you play and who you play with.
Tournament Format & Competition Level
This is not a casual weekend round—it’s built for serious players:
- 18 holes on Saturday, followed by a cut

The Rise of NYC Golf Culture

Over the past few years, something has shifted in New York.
More players.
Younger crowds.
Less traditional golf style.
And most of it is happening on public courses.
The NYC Amateur Championship reflects that evolution—where competitive golf meets the energy of the city.
That same mindset is what Queens Country Club NYC golf apparel was built around:
creating something that represents the everyday golfer in New York, not just the country club scene.
More Than a Tournament
Events like this aren’t just about who wins.
They’re about:
- Seeing familiar faces from your local course
- Meeting new players from across the boroughs
- Being part of something bigger than your regular foursome
Whether you’re teeing it up or just following along, it’s a reminder that NYC golf is its own lane.
Join the Movement
At Queens Country Club, the goal has always been simple:
Bring together golfers who play the city’s courses and build a community around it.
If you’re playing in the NYC Amateur—or just out there grinding your local muni—we want to see it.
